Intruder Alarms

Intruder Alarm Systems in their most basic form can be installed to activate an external and internal sounder, known as a bells system. Additional technologies are then applied according to the design and include the following options:

  Movement Detectors
  Magnetic contacts
  Break glass/Vibration Detectors
  Infra Red Beam Detectors

Systems can be enhanced with the addition of remote signaling devices which will transmit a signal to a central monitoring station upon activation.

Monitored Alarm
A burglar alarm is monitored when the alarm system is connected via a telephone line or radio network or both to a remote central station for the purpose of monitoring the alarm signals from the protected premises 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
There are monthly or annual service charges for this service. of the respective alarm package.

Speech Dialler
Intruder alarms can be connected to a speech dialer, this allows the alarm system to send voice messages to a number of designated telephone numbers in the event of alarm activation. The speech dialler may be a stand alone equipment which is attached to the burglar alarm or may be an integral part of the alarm control panel.

Police Response
In order to get police response on confirmed alarm activation and for peace of mind security, a monitored intruder alarm (ACPO Policy Document DD243:2004 Compliant) must be installed.
S S Systems are listed on the police list of approved installers allowing us to install security systems that require police attendance on activation.

We are happy to discuss the options with clients in order to obtain the most appropriate system.
